Privacy Policy

Your journal stays with you

Injourn is built so your journal belongs to you. Your entries, moods, photos, and selfies are stored on your device in the app's private storage. Your journal database is encrypted at rest with military-grade AES-256-GCM encryption. We do not operate servers that store your journal content.

App Lock (optional)

You can turn on App Lock (Settings > Privacy) to require your device's fingerprint or face unlock every time the app opens or returns to the foreground, so it can't be opened even on an already-unlocked phone. Biometric authentication is handled entirely by your device's secure hardware — your fingerprint or face data never leaves your device and is never seen by the app or by us.

Cloud backup (optional)

If you turn on cloud backup, the app packages your journal and media into a backup archive, encrypts it on your device, and uploads it to your own Google Drive storage — space that belongs to your Google account, not to us. Turning backup off stops future uploads at any time, and deleting your account removes your cloud backup.

Voice input (optional)

You can dictate an entry instead of typing it. Injourn does not record or store audio: it hands the microphone to your device's own speech recognition, which returns text. Only that text is saved, and only in your journal.

AI reflections

Injourn includes on-demand AI features (rewrite, add emoji, summaries, Deep Dive, AI Analyst and Write My Story). When you use one, the text of that entry is sent to Google Gemini, through Firebase AI Logic, only for that request — never in the background. That text is not used to train Google's models and is not reviewed by their staff. We do not sell or monetize your data. You can turn all AI features off in Settings > Privacy.

Analytics & diagnostics

Injourn includes no analytics SDK and no crash-reporting SDK. Injourn itself does not follow you across other apps or websites, and we do not build a profile of you. Ads are the one exception, and they are described next.

Advertising and purchases

The free tier is funded by ads served by Google AdMob, which may use your device's advertising ID to serve and measure them. Premium removes ads entirely.

Purchases are handled by Google Play and processed through RevenueCat, which receives purchase information and an app user identifier.

Your rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Because your data lives on your device and in your own Google Drive, access, portability, correction, and deletion are in your hands directly:

• Export your reflections and entries at any time (Settings > Backup & Data > Export)
• Turn cloud backup on or off, or back up manually (Settings > Backup & Data)
• Erase all data on this device (Settings > Backup & Data > Wipe Local Data)
• Delete your account and cloud backup (Profile > your account > Delete account) — see Deleting your account

Children

Injourn is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
